Early humans
probably created art as a way to express their emotions. The art they created
was most likely crude and expressionless compared to modern art. However, early
art probably had the same emotional significance for early humans as modern art
does for modern humans. Through the ages, art has served as a way for humans to
process their emotions and share their thoughts with others. As people grew
more literate in the 20th century, they turned to art for deeper expression of
ideas.
