A drawing is a two-dimensional representation of a three-dimensional object. Artists have to have an eye for the spatial dimensions of their work. This is because every object has height, width and depth; artists have to be cognizant of this when drawing. Additionally, they must be familiar with the parts of their subject they wish to highlight. They should also be familiar with where they wish to place their lines in relation to their subject. When creating a drawing, artists focus on making their lines look smooth and intentional. They should also consider how they want their subjects to look before drawing them.
